Vedanta VAB’s ‘Raktadaan Abhiyaan’ Crosses 36 Units Donated
Vedanta Sesa Goa in collaboration with Goa Medical College, Bambolim, and —- successfully organised blood donation drives across Goa. Sesa Goa employees, business partners and students of Sesa Technical School formed part of the volunteers for the donation drive. The blood donation was undertaken as part of Sesa Goa’s Project ‘Aarogya’ and the ‘Raktadaan Abhiyaan’ initiative. Donation camps were organised at Amona, Sankhli and Bicholim, contributing ~150 unit of the ‘gift of life’. undertaken under the Company’s CSR project ‘Aarogya’ and reflects its commitment to employee volunteerism and community welfare.
According to the Government of India, the nation requires approximately 14.6 million units of blood annually, with over 70% of donations coming from volunteers, while the remaining demand is met by friends and families of patients. In the period between 2023-25 , Vedanta Sesa Goa has organised over 35+ blood donation camps and contributed ~2000 units across states.
Expressing his thoughts on the blood donation drive and the initiative in general, Mr Navin Jaju, CEO Vedanta Sesa Goa, said “It is a matter of immense pride to see our employees, business partners and students at the STS enthusiastically stepping up for the noble act of donating blood. With over 2000 units donated since 2023, we, at Vedanta Sesa Goa, reaffirm our commitment to ‘giving back’ meaningfully to the communities we operate in. I am thankful to the Goa Medical College for having collaborated with us for organising the blood donation camps.”

The blood donation camps witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees. Alongside blood collection, the camps served as a platform to spread awareness about HIV-AIDS and the importance of voluntary blood donation. Vedanta Sesa Goa has positively impacted over 82,000 lives in FY ’24 & FY ’25, through various initiatives under Project ‘Aarogya’, such as Multispecialty Mega Health camps, Mobile Health Unit (MHU), Mega Blood donation Drive, health awareness sessions, medical equipment distribution and so on.
