Narayan Zantye College of Commerce & Vedanta Sesa Goa Partner to Celebrate International Youth Day 2025

Bicholim, August 12, 2025: Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim in collaboration with Vedanta Sesa Goa, successfully organised a sequence of events for marking the International Youth Day 2025. Taken up as part of the ‘YouThePower, YouTheChange’ initiative, event comprised a panel discussion, interactive discussion with the students and inauguration of facilities.

The theme for this year’s International Youth Day being ‘Local Youth Action for the SFGs & Beyond’, the panel discussion focused on evolving a way forward to channelise “The Power of Youth in Creating Jobs, Solving Problems, and Shaping the Future.”

The panel comprised Mr. Santosh Mandrekar, Head – North & Central Cluster, Vedanta IOG, Mr. Deepak Nawathe, Senior Training Officer, Sesa Technical School (STS) Mr. Chetan Salelkar, entrepreneur, and Prof. Dr. Praveen Sawant, Associate Professor, Shri Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Sadiya Choudhary, a Third Year B.Com student of the college.

Panelists shared insights on entrepreneurship, industry expectations, skill development, and the importance of adaptability in a rapidly changing economy. They also highlighted how innovation, collaboration, and a proactive mindset can help youth address societal challenges and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth.

Principal Prof. Dr. Rajendra Khorjuvekar expressed his thoughts saying “International Youth Day is an occasion to renew focus on meaningfully empowering the youth. The panel discussion helped in drawing attention to several significant aspects & benefitted the students by broadening their understanding on aspects related to maximising their potential & contributing to the overall good of the Nation.”

During the event felicitation of three outstanding students,Ms. Siddhi Chopdekar (SY), Mr. Vishwanath S. Illakallmatty (SY), and Ms. Shruti Gaddi (TY) was also carried out.The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, leaving students motivated to embrace innovation, leadership, and community service as they carve their future paths.
