Over 19K+ Benefits from Vedanta Sesa Goa’s Project Aarogya

World Health Day 2026, observed globally on 7 April, carries the theme “Together for health. Stand with science.” The focus is on leveraging collaboration to foster health & well-being while strengthening protection for people, animals, plants, and the planet. With a strong emphasis on the ‘One Health’ approach, World Health Day 2026 highlights the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.

Vedanta Iron Ore Odisha’s (IOO) Project ‘Aarogya’ anchors the Company initiatives in the field of health and ensures accessibility in the remote villages in and around Koida. Its key initiatives include the Mobile Health Units (MHUs), health camps, eye camps, and conducting awareness sessions and especially focusing on the health of girls and women. In FY26 alone, over 19222 community members, across locations, benefitted from Vedanta IOO’s health initiatives.

Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, Mr Navin Jaju, CEO Sesa Goa, said “At Vedanta Sesa Goa, health and well‑being of communities form the foundation of inclusive progress. From mobile health units and specialized camps to equipment distribution and eye care programs, our interventions are designed to bring basic affordable healthcare closer to those who need it most. This commitment reflects our ethos of ‘giving back’ meaningfully and fostering healthier, stronger communities for the future.”

Underscoring the importance of Project Aarogya, Mr Biswanath Sahoo, Dy CEO, Vedanta IOO said “With Project Aarogya, we aim to ensure holistic well-being of the communities, through multiple interventions. The MHU has been a testament to our commitment to providing healthcare support in far-flung areas, while the health camp bring the benefits of medical advise to those who are likely to be left behind. Our awareness session empower community members especially women which contributes in turn to the lasting well-being of families. Vedanta IOO reiterates its commitment to #TransformingCommunities and to partnering them to usher in lasting progress.”

In 2025-26 the Company organised an eye camp that benefitted over over 750 community members from 5 villages, with many receiving free spectacles to help address their vision related issues. (Happened in 2024-25 not in 25-26) The Company also conducted health awareness sessions, underscoring the importance of empowering with knowledge and striking at taboos such as cervical cancer, menstrual hygiene and maternal health. Distribution of sanitary pads at schools has also been undertaken by the Company while spreading the messages on menstrual health and hygiene.

This World Health Day, Vedanta Sesa Goa reaffirms its commitment to community well‑being by standing alongside communities in their journey toward resilience and self‑reliance. Each initiative as part of Project Aarogya reflects the Company’s belief in the power of collaboration as after all good health is a shared right and progresses the journey of #TransformingforGood, building healthier and more empowered communities every day.
