Vedanta IOK Commits to Community Well-being through Project Aarogya

World Health Day 2026, observed globally on 7 April, carries the theme “Together for health. Stand with science.” The focus is on leveraging collaboration to foster health & well-being while strengthening protection for people, animals, plants, and the planet. With a strong emphasis on the ‘One Health’ approach, World Health Day 2026 highlights the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.
Vedanta Sesa Goa’s Project ‘Aarogya’ anchors the Company initiatives in the field of health and ensures accessibility to basic affordable health care to community members across states. The Company’s health care measures include Mobile Health Units (MHUs), health camps, supporting government missions like Raktadaan Abhiyaan, TB Mukt Bharat, conducting awareness sessions and especially focusing on the health of girls and women.
In Karnataka, the MHUs along with the support extended to the CMCs, bring the benefits of the basic affordable healthcare to the community members from over 24 villages in and around Chitradurga. The Company organised multi-speciality health camps that provided community members an opportunity to benefit from the services and advise of specialists. The Company also conducted health awareness sessions benefitting over 1,700 community members, empowering women community members with knowledge on cervical cancer, menstrual hygiene and maternal health.

Vedanta IOK commits to deepening its community connect through the Sesa Employee Volunteer Activity, wherein its employees contribute to community welfare through various means including blood donation.In between 2024-26, over 1300+ units were donated by the Company by running focused blood donation drives as part of the Raktadaan Abhiyaan. Under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the company has extended support to those in need by providing nutritional kits. Vedanta IOK also fosters healthy lifestyle by extending support to events such as the Police Run organised in collaboration with the District Police, Chitradurga, which promoted the message of a drug-free world. Furthermore, under the aegis of the Anil Agarwal Foundation’s TACO initiative, Vedanta IOK established a cow shelter at Chitradurga which reflects Vedanta’s commitment to the principles of ‘One Health’.
