Vedanta Commits to a TB-Mukt Bharat

Chitradurga, Karnataka: Aligned with the Government’s vision of eradicating Tuberculosis (TB) and enhancing awareness on the prevention methods of TB, Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited – Iron Ore Karnataka (VISL – IOK) under the aegis of the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) is conducting a series of initiatives under the ‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (PMTBMBA)’.
Under the initiative, IOK would be conducting awareness sessions on the signs and symptoms of TB, precautionary measures for the employees and business partners, taking the Ni-Kshay Shapath (TB elimination pledge), organising Ayushman Arogya Shivir (TB screening camps) for the workforce, displaying informative material on TB prevention across the site, and so on.
Marking IOK’s contribution to the initiative, Mr. Shrishaila Gouda, CEO, VISL-IOK said, “We, at VISL-IOK are proud to play a part in the ‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’. The initiative, organised under the aegis of the Indian Bureau of Mines, is a reflection of our commitment to holistic well-being and to the centrality of the health and welfare of our workforce. VISL-IOK has previously contributed to the PMTBMBA through providing nutritional kit support to 23 TB patients for a duration of 6 months, in FY26. VISL has previously also associated with the PM Nikshay Mitra Scheme in Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka as part of its Project ‘Aarogya’, which has benefitted over 1 lakh lives from FY24-26 through various medical related initiatives. The initiative reinforces our collective commitment towards a TB-free India by prioritising the health and well-being of the workforce.
