Chitradurga Job Mela: ‘Vedanta Foundation’ Job Mela on 02 August
Vedanta Sesa Goa – Iron Ore Karnataka under the aegis of the Vedanta Foundation is furthering its push for youth empowerment by organising a Mega Job Mela for the youth of Karnataka on 02 Aug. The event is being organised in partnership with ‘Gurukul Skills’ and will take place at the M Basavaiah Residential Degree College, Sirigere. The ‘Job Mela’ is aimed at providing job seekers the opportunity to match with potential employers based on their skill sets and qualifications. The event will be organised from 10 am to 4 pm and will be in the form of walk-in interviews and will be a first of its kind platform in the region.
Vedanta IOK & Vedanta Foundation have several other youth focused initiatives including setting up of Vedanta Computer Centres & Computer Labs, providing Vedanta’ Utkarsh’ Scholarship to meritorious students form economically under privileged sections, and placement linked skill training through its Vedanta ‘Unnati’ Program. The Company also runs Vedanta Tailoring Training Centres which are accredited by the National Skill Development Council. Through various CSR activities, Vedanta IOK has, over the years, benefitted over 82,000 people in the state. The students who attend Job Mela and are still not able to secure jobs would be eligible to join the ‘Unnati’ skilling programme by Vedanta Sesa Goa-IOK in collaboration with Gurukul Skills.
Registration Modalities
The ‘Job Mela’ is focused on exploring opportunities in diverse fields ranging from Banking & Insurance, IT & ITES, Retail and logistics. The organising committee has ensured registration facilities for both employers and job seekers thus providing a comprehensive platform for job seekers. Over 25 companies including Tata Electronics, Tata Croma, Kotak Mahindra Bank, L&T Finances are expected to participate among others.
The organisers have also undertaken a widespread awareness & mobilisation drive by reaching out to village panchayats, colleges, it is, youth groups and community members. The initiative will provide a platform to a wide range of job seekers from graduates to professional and other degree holders to diploma holders.
