Over 2000 Youth Benefit from Vedanta Sesa Goa’s Skilling Initiatives
The youth of India hold the power to shape the nation’s future, and their empowerment is key to achieving sustainable progress. This year’s theme for the National Youth Day, “Youth Empowerment for Nation Building”, is closely aligned with the mission of #ViksitBharat.The current theme for the National Youth Day resonates deeply with the Company’s philosophy of ‘giving back’ meaningfully through partnerships in education, skilling, technical training, and hands-on learning.
Heeding to the call of Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Vedanta Sesa Goa has, under the PM’s Internship Yojana aimed at providing young professionals with structured training and real-world industry exposure, has onboarded promising interns and provided them comprehensive learning and on-job training opportunities aimed at securing their pathway for future success. These internships focus on building technical expertise, practical insights, and problem-solving skills, paving the way for a brighter future.
Complementing these efforts, Vedanta’s Sesa Technical School (STS) has been a pillar of support for aspiring youth in the region. STS in its over 30 years of history of uninterrupted focus on youth empowerment through technical skilling, offers a range of industry-relevant courses, including Machinist, Instrument Mechanic Fitter, Electrician, and Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) programs. These courses equip students with practical skills essential for thriving in today’s technology-driven and industrial economy. Over 2000 youth have graduated from the STS and embarked on progress laced careers, contributing to the industrial progress of the Nation.

Among its successes, several STS graduates have secured placements at Vedanta Sesa Goa, where they gain invaluable hands-on experience in real-world industrial environments. The STS also has an enviable record of 100% placement. Graduates have found rewarding careers in leading companies such as Vedanta Sesa Goa, Procter & Gamble, MRF Tyres, Siemens, Sanofim Unichem, Nestle, among others. This track record not only highlights the quality of training at STS but also its deep-rooted connections with industry giants, ensuring students step into the workforce with confidence. This combination of academic rigor and practical exposure empowers students to confidently take their first steps toward fulfilling careers.

Nagraj Shivappa Dani, a recent graduate of the COPA program at the STS, shared his experience saying “Joining Sesa Technical School has been life-changing. The course equipped me with valuable skills, and my placement at Vedanta’s VAB plant gave me hands-on experience that I could never have gained from textbooks alone. This opportunity has not only prepared me for my career but has also given me the confidence to realize my potential.”
Aditya Gaur, an intern under the PM Internship Yojana, described his experience of undergoing the internship at Vedanta VAB, “I am currently interning with Vedanta Ltd, a position I was fortunate to receive through the PM Internship Yojana. I have gained valuable insights into industrial processes & this experience has deepened my technical knowledge& honed my skills in project management and teamwork. I am genuinely grateful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing towards nation building and passing the torch of progress.
Vedanta Sesa Goa has also established 13 computer labs and 10 computer centers across Goa to enhance digital literacy and skill development. These facilities are instrumental in equipping young minds with the technological skills needed to excel in a digital-first economy.
