Vedanta IOK Constructs New Community Hall at Chitradurga

Continuing with the initiatives towards community development, Vedanta Sesa Goa – Iron Ore Karnataka inaugurated the newly constructed community hall at B. N. Halli, Chitradurga, which would cater to around 150 households & over 600 community members. The construction of the facility was taken up by Vedanta IOK under the Community Asset Creation initiative.
The community hall was inaugurated by Navin Jaju, CEO, Vedanta Sesa Goa, in the presence of Smt Sushilamma & Shri Chandrappa, Members Village Panchayat BN Halli, along with Mr Shrishaila Gouda, CEO-Vedanta IOK, and other Vedanta executives & community members.
The community hall is envisioned as a vibrant space for local gatherings, skill-building workshops, and social events, reinforcing Vedanta’s commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development in the region.
Speaking at the event, Shri Navin Jaju, CEO, Vedanta Sesa Goa, said, “At Vedanta Sesa Goa, we have a long-standing commitment towards the wellbeing & progress of the people of Chitradurga. Construction of halls, sanitation blocks and class rooms have been some of our key initiatives aimed at the holistic progress of the communities & our CSR initiatives in the field of health, education, IT and skill development continue to benefit thousands of community members every year.”
Residents and community leaders expressed appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its potential to foster unity and support grassroots development.
Smt Sushilamma, B. N. Halli Panchayat member expressed her appreciation for the company’s community welfare initiatives, “This community hall is a welcome addition blessing for our village. It will serve as a space for unity, learning, and celebration. We thank Vedanta Sesa Goa – Iron Ore Karnataka for supporting our community’s growth and well-being.”
Vedanta Sesa Goa-IOK has over the years benefitted the communities through various initiatives under Project ‘Aarogya’ – healthcare, Project ‘Vriddhi’ – education, Project ‘Jeevika’, women empowerment, and so on, and through civil projects such as construction of school compound walls, classrooms, dining hall, Mini science lab, etc.
