VISL has prioritised upskilling of the youth with the aim of providing them employment opportunities in the industrial sector. The Sesa Technical School (STS) in Sanquelim, Goa, and the Vedanta ESL Skill School (VESS) provide vital technical upskilling to both boys and girls. Curriculum, backed by ITI and NSDC, is aligned with industry requirements and contributes to the pipeline of skilled resource needed to achieve the vision of #ViksitBharat.
In over 30 years since inception, the STS has nurtured the future of over 2000 youth in Goa through its two-year full fledged courses in technical trades such as machinist, instrument mechanic, electrician, fitter and COPA. STS has a ~100% placement record over the years.
Alongside, the residential short term multi-trade vocational training courses run by the VESS has powered the dreams of youth from far-flung areas in Jharkhand. The students are provided training in various trades namely, Solar PV Installer, Field Technicians and Other Home Appliances Services, Food & Beverages Services and Sewing Machine Operator, through an NSDC Certified course along with basic knowledge on computers & other soft skills. In two years since inception, the VESS has shaped the careers of ~200 youth. Together, the two initiatives are contributing to Nation Building through commitment & resolve.
